OutingCast does not ask for a precise device location. When you submit a ZIP code, the site sends it to a ZIP lookup provider and uses the resulting approximate coordinates to request weather and nearby-event data from external providers.

Saved locations and plans

Saved ZIP codes (up to four), your selected activity and comfort filters, and any plan you choose to save for a ZIP are stored in this browser using local storage. A saved plan can include its ZIP code, activity, outing length, rain, temperature and wind limits, and selected forecast day. These preferences stay on this device and are not uploaded to an OutingCast account; this site has no user account feature. Clear this site’s browser storage to remove them.

Aggregate page views

The site may store a daily page-view count, page route, and referring website hostname. It does not store the ZIP code from the forecast request, IP address, full referring URL, or a visitor identifier in this analytics table. Requests with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled and recognized bots are excluded. Aggregate records are removed after 90 days.

Third-party services

Weather, ZIP lookup, and earthquake requests are handled by their respective providers and are subject to those providers’ privacy practices. OutingCast currently does not display AdSense ads. If advertising is introduced, this notice will be updated to describe the applicable advertising and consent practices.
