A FORECAST THAT HELPS YOU GET OUT THERE

Find your little
window for outside.

Tell us if it’s a walk, run, or picnic. OutingCast finds 1–3 hour windows that fit your rain, temperature, and wind preferences—and shows the forecast behind every pick.

A U.S. ZIP code is enough. We use its approximate center.

Plan around the forecast, not a guess

Enter a U.S. ZIP code to see the National Weather Service forecast for the approximate ZIP center. Choose a day, activity, and 1-, 2-, or 3-hour outing length; the planner compares up to three non-overlapping windows meeting your rain, temperature, and wind filters.

How to use this page

  1. Enter the ZIP code closest to your destination.
  2. Select a forecast day in the next 7 days and choose an outing length.
  3. Choose a walk, run, or picnic preset, then adjust its rain, temperature, and wind limits if needed.
  4. Compare the suggested windows and weather reasons, then check the linked NWS forecast and radar before you leave.

What the forecast can and cannot tell you

Rain probability describes the chance of measurable precipitation at a forecast point during a period. It does not promise dry weather, describe every block in a metro area, or determine whether an activity is safe. ZIP locations use approximate centers; local conditions can vary. Forecasts update and may change.

OutingCast uses NWS hourly and daily forecasts. For official watches, warnings, and instructions, follow your local authorities and the National Weather Service.
